I got a bunch of these books, sense and sensibility and sea monsters, pride and prejudice and zombies etc. So far my favorite is pride and prejudice and zombies but this is a close second for the Jane Austin monster remakes.

Wuthering Bites Sarah Gray 9780758254085 Books Reviews

This was an interesting twist of the famous Heathcliff's and Catherine's love story ... except this one was a vampire story!!! Heathcliff was a vampire and Catherine fears this dark side of him.
This was quite a love story to read. It tells the difficulties of choosing between your love and your blood lust, between life and eternal life as a vampire, between being a victim or becoming a monster...

If you are looking for a new, different vampire love story, then read this one!
I loved this book! These days, vampire books abound...however, this one is truly a bite-above all the others! LOL It is a dark and delicious spoof that's filled with fun. I highly recommend Wuthering Bites.
I found this book to have everything that a good vampire book needs. It was even had a bit of humor mixed in with the weird and spooky stuff. It ran a little longer than I had anticipated but over all... Loved it !
Mr. Earnshaw finds the Gypsy orphan Heathcliff and brings him home. His daughter Catherine has mixed emotions over the newcomer in the household. On the one hand she is fascinated with Heathcliff and glad her father is so kind; but on the other hand she is shallow and upset with her father for losing her present when he stopped to talk with the lad.

Catherine and Heathcliff grow up together as close friends. However, Catherine knows their relationship must end as they are unrelated and she behaves with the prim and proper deportment expected of an unmarried young woman at the turn of the century. Heathcliff is also pulling away as he begins to understand his split warring desires as a half-breed paternal vampire and maternal vampire slayer. She turns to proper affluent Edgar Linton as more appropriate for her then her childhood friend.

This is an entertaining retelling of the Bronte classic turning the cause of the mental torment of Heathcliff into a schizoid paranormal tendency as his heritage is at war inside his head. Converting Heathcliff into a half vampire and half slayer comes across as plausible while Catherine remains true to the original. However, the story line lacks the amusing biting irony that these parodies need to avoid the question why not just read the original; although Wuthering Bites is a fine reenactment.
Wuthering Heights is one of my favorite books. This plodding entry into the vampire-themed classics re-telling was not as good as I thought it should be. You've got Heathcliff, who is already dark and brooding. Why did the author spend so much time on the set-up sections of the novel. I kept on reading, and it kept on trying to set-up the story. Easy new tenant at Grange, mean Catherine and household, he sleeps in room and sees ghost. Add vampires and that's it. The author drags on and on with this preamble period. I've tried to get past it, but I wanted the author to get on with the story already. Lost my interest. Good premise, drawn out intro.
I am a fan of Emily Bronte, but not of the original "Wuthering Heights" as I found it impossible to like any of Emily's characters. We had to read this for school and to watch a black and white movie that roughly followed the story. I found Sarah Gray's vampire romp hysterically funny. I laughed through the entire book. Much of Gray's dialogue fits so well that I had to dig out a musty copy of the original to see what was new. I won't give away any of the plot twists, but Heathcliff is much more interesting in this version. I loved it so much that I bought a copy as a gift for a friend's birthday. This is a fun read, and I look forward to other spoofs by the same author.
