Merci Ohay, an artificial human produced by Neo-Genetics Insights, had helped him pay down the ship’s debt in the eight years since she had joined him as his partner. Her skills complemented his own which had been derived from years in the Explorer Corps. They were an efficient team. Unfortunately, his cargo becomes mired in bureaucratic red tape and Randal is forced to wait to clear the sale. He is looking forward to a new beginning as a ship owner and he wants to share the profits with Merci. Then the rains begin and all hell breaks loose.
Follow the adventures of Randal Waide as he becomes entangled in a star-spanning conspiracy to take over the Empire — one seemingly random encounter after another.

Creative and inventive, just like you should expect your Sci-Fi fiction to be. This book is intricate, entertaining, and a page turner. Characters were well developed while the creative science was plausibly believable. I am not a big Sci-Fi reader, but I do enjoy some. The Random Factor definately kept my attention and was enjoyable to read.Product details

If you are a fan of the RPG Traveller or science fiction in general this is a must, nice, easy read. Reminded me of a solo adventure.....
It's been a long time since I read anything that surprised me. The Random Factor twists on you with every chapter. There is depth in the history and characters that you wish you knew. The action is given in one perspective, then you are introduced to another perspective and you just get caught up in the intrigue. I actually care about the well being of these people and their societies. Excellent story-telling keeps the jaded reader involved. Well done!
